A Desjardins/Pelletier Presentation –
Today was the 18th Annual run for all ages, a 5K in Wakefield. The sky couldn’t have been clearer, there was absolutely no wind, it was pleasantly cool, and a perfect day for a race. It is always encouraging to see the large population of senior runners this race draws. The course was as flat as if it had been steamrollered. The colorful autumn leaves scattered about on the ground and the pretty blue hues of Lake Quannapowitt combined to create still-life-worthy scenery. A strong contingent of Striders attacked the course today. In any other race much bling would have been garnered, but in this race, which attracts the elite older runners from a wide area, we weren’t as high up in the ranks as usual; but we were quite satisfied with our strong representation.
While our finishing times were respectable, our age-graded percentages and times were even more noteworthy.
The Striders and today’s accomplishments follow:
|28th||Sal Genovese||5th/15 M5059||23:13||7:28|

- Age-graded Time is the equivalent time for a runner of the same sex in the Open category.
- Age-Graded Percent is a runner’s ranking in a single-age group of all runners of that same age and sex. For example, Paul Hennessey’s time for 5K was better than 75.18% of the male runners of the same age.
