The North Shore Striders had a great showing at the 2016 Lynn Woods Relay! The Lynn Woods Relay Results are in!
First place and a set of sweatshirts to each of three NS Strider teams: the Veteran Women, the Senior Men, and the Super Veteran Men.
Second place and silver medals to the Senior Men (highlighted by Bill Kobus having to run two legs).
Third place and bronze medals to the Masters Women and the Coed Open team.
Also Noteworthy are:
- The 1st place finish of the Senior Women who returned the same team as last year when they finished 2nd.
- The 3rd place finish of the Masters Women’s team which combined three senior women (rookies Cheryl Welsh and Hope Roe and ever reliable Sally Perkins) with true masterRosie Kyes.
- The 3rd place finish of the Coed Open team where four high-school students, Alexandra Kay, Aidan Kay, Grace Cunningham, and Sean Michael Kay finished ahead of 18 coed teams of adults.
- An outstanding opening leg run for the Super Veteran Men by rookie Dave Newhall, making his first ever run in Lynn Woods.

I think we all rocked that pile of dirt, roots and stones. I for one got through it all, even the goat path portion, WITHOUT a face plant! You might not have recognized me post race without blood and band aids. (On the other hand, perhaps my May face plant was sufficient penance to satisfy the “make her trip” Gods this year.)
So nice to see new members – and old members and returning members and steady members – give it their all.
