By Mike Pelletier – Salem, MA, August 2, 2015, 8:00AM Start.
The Bridge & Back 10K was the fifth race in the 2015 NSS GP where runners could score points in an age-group. The weather wasn’t bad for August. At the start, it felt like the temperature was in the 70s with a westerly breeze. This is a challenging out-and-back course with the Beverly-Salem Bridge serving as a major hill in both directions. The first ascent of the bridge at 1.3 miles quickly changed any misperceptions that this would be easy running. The second ascent confirmed that there would be few negative splits today.
Gary Freedman was the 1st Strider man and 4th Male 55-59. Jennifer O’Neil was 1stStrider woman and 3rd Female 50-54.
Mike Pelletier was 1st Male 70+, beating his rival Ted Rideout from SRR by almost 2 minutes.

You folks are all running fantastic times, ESPECIALLY in light of the weather. I took a pass as I was still a little sore from the Yankee Homecoming 10 miler (tweaked a hammy) and I know how much I wilt in the heat. Proud of all of you.
