April Fool 4 Miler

The weather forecast was sketchy all week.  Maybe rain, maybe not.  OK  we can choose maybe not.  Yay.  No wait, not for the expected reason, because it wasn’t rain, it was drizzle and snow.  It was plenty cold, raw you might say.  Well perhaps that enabled us to fun faster to amp up body heat.  At least the race, being inland, meant we didn’t have the challenge of the coastal wind which was just howling today.

The grey skies and temps hovering around 32-33 may have deterred many; but the 210 finishers refused to give in to Mother Nature.  In retrospect, it wasn’t so bad.  There was no hanging around outdoors post-race, though.  Everyone headed indoors at the Winners Circle to  enjoy some brews and snacks, race recap films, the awards ceremony and WARMTH.  The North Shore Striders were well represented and several took age group awards, which for this race only went two deep.  

The biggest cheer of the awards ceremony came when the winner of the club with the most participants, (a  $100 gift certificate to the Winners Circle), was announced.  NORTH SHORE STRIDERS!!!!  We sure hollered up that announcement!  It was a Total Team Effort!
