From Jill Page: Just wanted to highlight our 4 North Shore Strider teammates!
Scott Fraser, Mariellen Hayward, Dave Jefska & Julie Menosky have truly been an inspiration!
Scott Fraser: Scott has been a long time supporter of the Special Olympics. In June, Scott will be inducted to the Special Olympics Hall of Fame. He has participated in numerous sporting events. He is a long time member of the North Shore Striders. What he has accomplished is truly amazing and he has devoted countless hours to the Special Olympics organization.
Mariellen Hayward: Mariellen has completed all world major marathons. She recently finished the very challenging Antarctica Marathon. What’s most impressive is that Mariellen is just the 6th woman to complete both a full & half marathon on all 7 continents! Just the journey to get to the start of the Antarctica marathon was a challenge (severe weather).
Dave Jefska: Dave Jefska has completed 44 Mount Washington Road Races. He will be going for #45 this june. Just imagine doing any race 44x, never mind the challenge of doing the grueling Mt. Washington 7 mile race. I know many of you think, “it has only 1 big hill!” Dave has completed numerous marathons as well.
Julie Menosky: A 5x Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier (just imagine running @ that high a competitive level for 20 years!), Julie recently competed with her Liberty Track teammates to set a world record in both the 4x 800 & 4x 400 relays. What is most impressive, Julie returned to competitive running after having major foot surgery 3 years ago.
