Nagog Seasons Road Race 20K & 5K Recap

Sunday, September 6^th saw twelve North Shore Striders travel to Acton for the Seasons 20K & 5K races. This was the 10^th event in the NSS Grand Prix for 2015 and also the sixth race in the USATF/NE Grand Prix for 2015.

Kate Gage was first North Shore Strider in the 20K. But the big story in this race was the NSS Veteran Women’s team of Linda Desjardins, Bonnie Hallinan, and Deb Jackson finishing 1^st as a team and being crowned as the 2015 New England 20K Champions.

The team moved into a tie with Whirlaway’s Veteran Women for 1^st place overall in the standings. With only one race left to go in the 2015 Grand Prix series, the Lone Gull 10K in two weeks will decide it all.

While the 20K race had 10 year age groups, the USATF/NE GP awards individual points in 5-year age groups which means Linda will earn 9 individual points, Bonnie will earn 8 points, and Deb Jackson will earn 7 points.
