NSS BUS #1 (only option for 2018!)
NSS #1 Bus will provide one-way service direct to the Athlete’s Village in Hopkinton where the bus will be parked until the last wave of the Boston Marathon departs.
You can wait inside the bus until it’s time for you to move to the starting line or you can hang out in the Athletes’ Village. In case of inclement weather, you can stay inside our bus and be warm and dry with your own restroom on board. The Athletes’ Village with all runner amenities will be located at the Hopkinton Middle/High School. Our club bus NSS #1 Bus (with a big MBT Worldwide logo) will be parked in the club bus parking lot at Hopkinton Middle/High School by 8:15. Runners in Waves 1 and 2 must be on this bus (NSS #1 Bus) to get to the starting line on time. Mike Pelletier, an experienced marathon runner, will be on-board and coordinating the NSS #1 Bus.
NSS #1 Bus will board at the following locations. This bus must be in Hopkinton between 7:45am and 9:15am which means we must leave all stops on time.
- at 6:00 am in front of New England Running Company, Commodore Plaza, 43 Enon Street, Rte 1A in North Beverly (1/3 mile away from the North Beverly MBTA Commuter Rail Station).
- at 6:20 am in the parking lot of the Salem MBTA Commuter Rail Station, 252 Bridge St Salem, MA 01970-3980 (Rt. 107 in Salem).
- at 6:40 am at , 595 North Ave. in Wakefield.
A note from the BAA about bags: Last year, the BAA informed us that “runners being transported in the club bus program should be prepared for inspection. Buses must be IN Hopkinton between 6:30 AM and 8:15 AM. Runners will be allowed to have baggage on the charter buses. However NO bags will be allowed off of the buses.” Until we hear otherwise, we are operating under last year’s instructions. If you leave baggage on our club bus NSS #1 Bus, it will be donated to charity unless you make specific arrangements with Mike Pelletier to transport your baggage back to Salem.
Reserve and Pay for your seat on the Bus!
