Four-Mile April Fool's Race

SALISBURY, MA - Twenty-nine Striders went to Salisbury for the first race in the 2010 Grand Prix. For many of them it was the first chance in six months to not run in tights, fleece jackets, hats and gloves. Instead it was 70 degrees and dry.

New Strider Carl Buxbaum, currently a Master, but due to move to Senior status soon, was the first Strider male with Sean Kay second. Sue Quimby edged out Lauren Hamilton by 0.3 seconds to finish as first Strider female.

In age group competition, Bonnie Hallinan and Nancy Wilson each finished 1st in her division. Deuces were wild as Sue Quimby, Lauren Hamilton, Linda Fitzpatrick, Carol Geis, and George Geis all finished second in their respective age groups. Mike Pelletier managed to sneak into third place in his age group.

Linda Fitzpatrick and Armand Claveau beat out George and Carol Geis in the unofficial category, First Married Couple of Strider Running with a combined time of 77:14, three minutes ahead of George and Carol.
