North Shore Striders currently meet three times a week for
club-sponsored runs:
Tuesday evenings (Daylight Savings Time)
Meet at the Beverly High School 6:00 pm for a road warm up run followed by a track workout with the club coach Dave Jellerson at 6:25.
All levels are encouraged to attend.
If you are new to the track workouts, it will help Coach Jellerson if you would bring a filled out
NSS Training Info Sheet.
Thursday evenings at 6:30pm - Run from Flynnies
Striders meet on Thursday nights for runs from Flynnies in Marblehead. Meet others
interested in long-distance training...the spring running season will be here before
you know it! Flynnies is located on the right on Ocean Ave. in Marblehead, just
before the causeway that crosses over to Marblehead Neck.
Sunday mornings at 8:00am - Long Run

Long runs begin at the Anchor Pub at the foot of
the Beverly-Salem bridge on 1A (Beverly side, corner of
Congress and Summit, across from the main entrance). Stick around for breakfast
afterward: the Anchor has lots of runners' favorites on the menu, taste-tested by
your team mates!
Contact any officer for directions or other information. Pace
and distance vary with the number and skill level of those that show up.
Members of the community have the opportunity to train on the Marblehead indoor track, school-day
mornings 5:15-7:45 am. Also the weight room is open and should be available at those times.
Weekends are hit or miss, but very busy. No advance reservations required.
The track: 173 yards/lap (second lane)
Some distances have starting point markings - all use the second lane, for example:
440y: 2.5 laps
1000m: ~6 laps
1M: 10+30y laps
2M: 20+60y laps
All finish at the end of straight on SW side.
If you have questions, Chad Warren, Marblehead High School Coach is frequently there in the mornings.
